Name Ingredients:

Calendula officinalis is also known as the plant pot marigold. Pot marigold extracts are used for their anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and immunomodulatory properties.

Key insights:

  • Pot marigold contains an ingredient called quercetin, a flavonoid linked to hair follicle growth due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
  • The in vitro  (in cells) evidence suggests that pot marigold may increase collagen levels, which may assist in maintaining hair follicle health, however this has not been confirmed in further experiments.
  • The in vivo (in mice) evidence suggests that quercetin treatment – via subcutaneous injection – could induce hair regrowth, however there has been no clinical evidence to substantiate this.
  • Our experience tracking members: by itself, pot marigold is not enough to improve hair loss outcomes.
