Name Ingredients:
Vitamin D is a nutrient we eat and a hormone our bodies make. Vitamin D helps to regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body which are required to keep bones, teeth, and muscles healthy. Vitamin D is added to many supplements including ones targeted towards hair health/growth.
Key insights:
- The in vivo (mice) evidence suggests that topical vitamin D can enhance hair growth recovery after chemotherapy-induced hair loss, and protect against radiation-induced hair loss.
- In humans, topical vitamin D has been found to protect against chemotherapy-induced alopecia from paclitaxel and cyclophosphamide, but not after a combination of chemotherapy treatments.
- Our experience tracking members: vitamin D by itself is not enough to improve hair loss outcomes.
