ABN Complex

Rob (PHH)

Name Ingredients:

The ABN Complex™ is a combination of ingredients used in many products sold by Minoxidil Max. The complex consists of Adenosine, Biotin, and Niacinamide. The ratio of these ingredients is described as well-optimized; however, it is not shown on the website.

Key insights:

  • Adenosine: While there is no evidence to suggest that treatment can improve hair loss outcomes, it has been shown to improve hair thickness.
  • Biotin: A number of clinical studies have been conducted in children, which show a beneficial effect. However these have been completed in patients with an underlying disease or genetic mutation that prevented them from absorbing dietary biotin. One study shows that biotin supplementation may provide a low efficacy for the treatment of hair loss after bariatric surgery that removes 75 – 80% of the stomach (called sleeve gastrectomy). However, the only measurement of efficacy was by patient-reported outcomes and not via quantitative means like a phototrichogram. Biotin supplementation may be useful for women dealing with hair loss who also have a biotin deficiency. However, this hasn’t been confirmed in clinical studies.
  • Niacinamide: There is no evidence to suggest that niacinamide can improve hair loss outcomes. However, it may increase hair thickness.
  • Our experience tracking members: the ABN Complex™ by itself is not enough to improve hair loss outcomes.
