Chlorella vulgaris

Rob (PHH)

Name Ingredients:

Chlorella Vulgaris is one of many species within the Chlorella genus, a genus of green microalgae found in freshwater. It is known to have antioxidant properties, which may benefit hair health.

Key insights:

  • There are several in vitro studies that have assessed the potential of Chlorella vulgaris as an antioxidant, showing that it has strong free radical scavenging abilities. This may be beneficial to protect hair follicles from free radical-induced damage. Another in vitro study has shown that Chlorella vulgaris has antibacterial properties, which may protect the scalp from bacterial growth.
  • The in vivo evidence also suggests that Chlorella vulgaris has antioxidant properties.
  • There is no clinical evidence to suggest that Chlorella vulgaris is beneficial for hair growth.
  • Our experience tracking members: Chlorella vulgaris is not enough to improve hair growth outcomes.
