Janus Kinase (JAK) is a protein involved in immune system regulation and hair loss – particularly alopecia areata (and possibly androgenic alopecia). JAK inhibitors are currently being explored for the treatment of hair loss disorders. Recently, the FDA approved baricitinib (Olumiant®) for the treatment of severe alopecia areata.
