Hair shedding is part of the hair cycle. Most people shed 100-150 scalp hairs daily – even in the absence of a hair loss disorder. While hair shedding can increase from hair loss disorders, they can also increase during the first few months of effective treatments – such as the introduction of finasteride or minoxidil.
